The appearance and abilities of Demons vary, although there are a number of common traits which many of them share. Such traits may include horns, pointed ears, claws, tails and leathery wings.
There is a subspecies of Demon, known as the Etherious, which is comprised of Demons born from the Books of Zeref.

Demons have a number of Magic and abilities, though it varies from Demon to Demon.
Transformation Magic: The Demons living on Galuna Island possess this Magic and use it to transform into humans.
Flight: Many winged Demons have been shown to possess the ability to fly with their wings.
